Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • With electric you don’t have the costs or combustible emissions that you get from petrol or diesel outboards. There are no noxious fumes so all you smell is clean ocean air, and no obnoxious noise which makes for a more enjoyable ride! You also get faster acceleration and instant power along with more reliability and less maintenance.

  • With electric jets, there’s no exposed propeller so no risk of harming boaties, swimmers, wildlife or reefs. There’s no large metal bulk of an outboard so you have more space onboard and it’s easier to beach, transport and stow. Plus, as steering is controlled by a rushing jet stream with zero resistance, it’s precise and easy to manoeuvre at both low and high speeds, making it safer to navigate on the water as well as an exhilarating ride.

  • Batteries make up a large portion of the cost of electric boat systems. The batteries also need specialised protective cases, especially since boats do not have any suspension to reduce potential impact on the batteries, like electric vehicles do. However, while electric boats may be more expensive up-front, you don’t have any ongoing petrol or diesel costs.

When making the investment in an electric boat, make sure to get the best value for money by researching how options compare in terms of range and runtime, safety, manoeuvrability, practicality and fun.

  • Traditional combustion powered jet pumps are known to be inefficient at slow speeds. The ZeroJet jet pump departs from these designs and has been specifically engineered and tuned for the ZeroJet electric motor. It’s also been built for low speed efficiency – in fact, the efficiency of the jet is similar at slow and high speeds.

  • Both the ZeroJet propulsion system and battery system warranties are 24 months based on recreational use. We invest heavily in research, design, development and testing to ensure our systems are robust and withstand the harsh marine environment. We stand by our systems with consumer support and spare parts stocked to cover Europe, North America and the Pacific regions.

  • The ZeroJet electric jet system is the result of starting with the impossible and making zero compromises to achieve safety, fun, practicality and performance in one compact package. The team have designed and engineered a lightweight and specialised low speed jet pump and a high output electric motor in order to accomplish this.

  • With a ZeroJet powered boat, there’s no exposed propeller so less risk of harming boaties, swimmers, wildlife or reefs. The system is powered by Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries which don’t catch fire like commonly used lithium-ion batteries can. Plus, ZeroJet has precise steering and easy manoeuvrability at both high and low speeds, making it safer to navigate on the water. Compared to combustion outboards, there’s also no noxious fumes and no need to carry petrol or diesel on board.

  • With ZeroJet, you no longer need to choose between sustainability and performance. You can have both a safe, practical tender which is ideal for your daily needs, and an exhilarating on-water experience!
